Cosmic Diagram

This is a conceptual world map that was indited on a rock surfaces at the on arock surface at the ancient Ramasu Uyana (Golden Fish Park) of southern Anuradapura. It followed the Mandala diagram concept which is described in the philosophy of Tantric Buddhism. The symbol depicts hoe the ancient Sri lanka conceptualized the external world that surrounded them. The mandala consists of circles and squares representing different aspects of the universe. Mandala was used by Tantric monks as an object of concentration (arammana kasina) during their meditation, Mandala conceot symbolizes the universe or the external world. This diagram could be ascribed could be ascribed to the 7 th or 8 th century CE.
