Full Description
Many merchant ships that sailed across the Indian Ocean during the 17th and 18th centuries were equipped with cannons. The sailors who travelled aboard these ships also used various firearms for protection. Excavations of the Avondster shipwreck at the Port of Galle have revealed a large number of metal bullets used for such firearms.
